We warmly invite you to a unique piano recital as part of the 4th University Philharmonic Summer Festival – “Wrocław Summer Classics”. In the magnificent historic interiors of Oratorium Marianum, audiences will experience one of the most important and demanding masterpieces in the piano repertoire: Fryderyk Chopin’s complete 24 Études, Op. 10 and Op. 25.
Although Chopin originally composed his Études as technical studies, he elevated the genre to the highest level of artistic expression. Each piece is a distinct musical world, filled with poetry, drama, lyricism, virtuosity, and emotion. Together, they form an extraordinary portrait of a composer who transformed technical exercises into timeless works of art.
The evening’s performer will be Martin Kasík (Czech Republic) – one of the most distinguished pianists of his generation, winner of prestigious international piano competitions and acclaimed for his refined tone, musical intelligence, and masterful interpretations. His performances captivate audiences throughout Europe, and the music of Chopin occupies a special place in his artistic career.
The recital will be enriched by an engaging musical commentary from Bartosz Żurakowski, who will guide the audience through the fascinating stories behind the creation of the Études and their significance within Chopin’s oeuvre.
