Concerts by candlelight are nothing new, but—like every trend—they return with each new wave of aesthetic change. The magical atmosphere of flickering lights was masterfully used as early as the 18th century by “Papa” Haydn in his masterpiece, the Farewell Symphony, in which each musician traditionally extinguishes their candle as they finish their part.

On this evening, the University Philharmonic will host the outstanding Italian pianist Fabio Scafarella. This young artist, full of Southern temperament, will perform the vibrant Piano Concerto No. 15 in B-flat major, K. 450 by W.A. Mozart.

The University Philharmonic Orchestra will be conducted by the charismatic Bartosz Żurakowski.
